Discontinuance of CO2 Sensor【CDM7160】

Please note that Figaro has determined to discontinue the production and sales of CO2 Sensor CDM7160 and Evaluation Module EM7160.

As announced in previous notices, key components (photodiodes) used for CDM7160 and EM7160 have become unavailable due to a fire incident at supplier plant in late October. It is reported from the supplier that production and inspection facilities were significantly damaged and there is no clear recovery plan. Even if recovery is possible by any chance, more than 1 year is deemed necessary.

After thorough investigation, Figaro concluded that compatible substitutes of photodiodes are not available from other sources. Therefore, Figaro is compelled to make this difficult decision to discontinue CDM7160 and EM7160. While we are currently developing the new NDIR-type CO2 sensor as a successor model, the expected release date is no earlier than 2022.

Since Figaro will not be able to meet customer demand in the near future, we would have to ask our customers to urgently consider, evaluate, and proceed to replace CDM7160 with alternative sensors.

We sincerely apologize for all the inconvenience to our partners and customers. Your understanding and cooperation would be greatly appreciated. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
